Data Governance Consultant

At BitPeak, we support organizations in building strong data foundations that enable responsible growth, regulatory compliance, and data-driven decision-making. As a Data Governance Specialist, you will join our team to help design and implement Data Governance aligned with business strategy and enterprise data ambitions. This role is ideal for a professional with hands-on experience in Data Governance within complex, large-scale environments – particularly in regulated industries.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience in Data Governance within a large organization.
Practical experience working with Data Governance, Data Quality, and Data Catalog tools.
Strong knowledge of data governance concepts, frameworks, and industry best practices (e.g., DAMA, DCAM).
Ability to translate business needs into Data & IT solutions and effectively bridge communication between business and technical teams.
Experience working in a regulated environment (nice-to-have)
Proven experience collaborating with managerial-level stakeholders and supporting decision-making processes.
Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, policies, and operating models.
High level of independence, accountability, and results-oriented mindset.
Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
Ability to work with English-speaking clients (B2+)

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement Data Governance programs aligned with our clients’ strategy and business objectives.
Define, and enforce data governance policies, standards, procedures, and operating models across business domains.
Support the development and continuous improvement of processes and tools enabling effective Data Governance.
Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to embed Data Governance principles into daily operations and key initiatives.
Facilitate the adoption of Data Governance roles and responsibilities across the organization, providing guidance and practical support.
Drive data culture initiatives, including communication, awareness-building, and educational activities related to data governance.
Monitor governance framework effectiveness and recommend improvements based on organizational needs and regulatory requirements.
Partner with data owners, stewards, IT, and analytics teams to ensure alignment between governance standards and data lifecycle management.
