The third edition of the IIBA Summit Poland unfolded on October 6-7 under the banner “#ValueUnleashed – Unlocking Potential, Maximising Impact.” Organised by the IIBA Poland Chapter, the event drew practitioners, experts, and enthusiasts from across the business analysis community.
As intended by the organizers, the conference provided a dynamic platform for exchanging experiences, exploring best practices, and delving into the latest trends shaping the future of business analysis.
How AI is changing the role of business analysis
In his presentation “From Rules to Goal-Based Constraints: How AI is Transforming Business Analysis”, Piotr Wiewiórowski explored the evolving role of business analysts in the age of artificial intelligence. He highlighted how AI is shifting the focus from rigid, rule-based processes to more flexible, goal-driven approaches.
Piotr emphasized that today’s business analysts are increasingly tasked with defining high-level goals and constraints for AI systems, rather than specifying every detailed rule. Classic business analysis tools now serve as guides for AI agents navigating complex, real-world scenarios.

Success, he noted, is no longer measured solely by system uptime, but by the value and adaptability that AI brings to the organization. Attendees learned practical strategies for mapping stakeholders, ranking constraints, and clearly explaining AI-driven decisions—skills that are becoming essential as AI continues to reshape the business analysis landscape.
For those who missed Piotr’s presentation, we have a treat – the latest article by Piotr showcasing the topic presnter during the summit, „Five lessons for AI Business Analysis that make real decisions.”
Inspiring sessions from industry professionals
The IIBA Summit Poland 2025 was packed with memorable moments that resonated with attendees. The workshop day began with Ewelina Kurasz delivering a compelling reminder about the pivotal role of trust in business analysis and product collaboration, particularly in high-uncertainty environments. Her message was clear: trust is a fundamental element that cannot be automated or fabricated. And also a powerful reminder that trust isn’t a soft skill – it’s the foundation of every successful project.

One particularly eye-opening session was “The Mindful BA” led by Kathy Berkidge. She emphasised mindfulness as a crucial skill for boosting concentration, staying mindful and focused amid the chaos of multitasking and information overload.. Participants had the opportunity to practice meditation techniques and learn practical ways to incorporate mindfulness into their business analysis work.

Ryan Folster led an engaging session, “Leading from the Front: Balancing Vision and Value”, about finding the right balance between innovation and tangible business results, especially when technology evolves faster than we can predict. With AI reshaping how we build, lead, and deliver, it’s easy to chase shiny new things. But real transformation still comes down to aligning teams, solving for customers, and staying grounded in outcomes.

AI is taking the stage
Daniel Biskupski’s session, “How AI Will Replace Your Job… With a Better One,” explored how AI assistants can become true partners in business analysis. He offered practical advice on identifying and prioritising tasks that can be effectively enhanced with AI tools.

Meanwhile, Marin Niehues’s presentation, “AI Is Easy—Until You Add People: Inside the Chaos of Implementing AI in Manufacturing,” shed light on the human challenges that often complicate AI projects. From unexpected resistance and abrupt pivots to data issues and micromanagement, Niehues highlighted the unpredictable impact of the human factor in technological change.

Mr. G – Galeno Chua gave an excellent exploration of how large language models can help simulate stakeholder perspectives, practice empathy, and prepare for complex discussions under real-world constraints.
